Gameloft Live

Gameloft Live may just be the next big thing, if you havnt heard of the platform yet, it wont be long until you do!

As one of the best developers on the iPhone, Gameloft are known for making top quality games, in a whole variety of genres from Uno to Asphalt 5 and everything in between. From September 2009, most new Gameloft games will be using the Gameloft Live service (with the exception of the amazing Rogue Planet – which was only published by Gameloft).

Gameloft Live

What is Gameloft Live?

Similar to OpenFeint and AGON, the service adds a social network to games through a whole variety of means. Each of the games on the network has Achievements or Trophies to be earned in the game by completing certain tasks. The platforms also allow users to challenge their friends, chat and access global leaderboards.

The Next Big Thing?

Everyone interested in achievements knows about OpenFeint and its vast number of games (currently over 200), but some may argue that most of these games are only worth playing because of the achievements available. Gameloft make quality games, already have a large user base and are arguably the best marketers in the iPhone gaming sphere.

Gameloft Live as a platform could best its competition with its clean interface, ease of use and having everything clearly visible. Each gamer can select an avatar for themselves and can view trophies for any game they own, regardless of which they are playing.

I know Arthur quite intimately, so when the iPhone version dropped on the App Store, I raised my sword high and rejoiced! I was actually excited once again. I had the very same feeling you get when pass a tough level, finally finish your favorite game. I wasn’t prepared for what lie within.
