Released earlier this year, with all the hoo-haa going on with “Balloon Boy”, I thought I’d relive this little beauty which is based on a Flash game of the same title.

If Mario and Kirby had a baby, it’d be Balloon Headed Boy. So cute you could squeeze him. This whacky little platformer from Gimme5games ends up being a clever little title. Going beyond the touch control of left and right, they add the element of floating around with your head, which just happens to be a pink balloon!
So, it’s Balloon Headed Boy’s birthday and the King of Balloons has arranged a huge party for him at Balloon Castle. The feature decoration? Balloons of course! Unfortunately a teribble storm brews and scatters the balloons throughout the kingdom. Help Balloon Headed Boy save all of his balloons for his birthday party as intended. 32 bubble gum inspired levels adorn this cute little title. The presentation pops out at you with a smile and gameplay handled reasonably well. Controls are laid out well and are not hard to come to terms with. Everything about it spells cute and bubbly, even down to those pesky green rubber frogs.
